Dr. Elaine Garzarelli – Founder and President

Elaine Garzarelli is the founder and president of Garzarelli Capital, Inc. and Charles Street Advisors, LLC. Prior to establishing her own firms, she held senior leadership roles—including Partner and Managing Director—at Lehman Brothers and other major institutional investment firms.

Recognized as a leader in her field, Elaine was ranked First Team in Quantitative Analysis and Portfolio Strategy in Institutional Investor’s All-Star Poll and was inducted into the prestigious All-America Research Team Hall of Fame. Her work has been prominently featured in Fortune, BusinessWeek, Wall Street Journal, the NY Times, and numerous other national and international publications.

Elaine’s track record is 90.0% correct market calls since 1980 (audited). Some notable calls – sell signals before the 1987 stock market crash, the Dot-com decline of 2000, and a sell signal four months before the S&P 500 decline of -52.0% associated with the financial crisis. The indicators predicted a bull market in 1995 when all Wall Street strategists were bearish and a “V” shaped market rebound after the Covid market drawdown .

She holds a PhD in economics and statistics and studied at New York University and Drexel University. She has an annual scholarship awarded at Drexel University for female students majoring in economics.

Innovative Methodology and Market Forecasting

Elaine developed her proprietary Sector Analysis methodology and market indicator composite model while serving as a corporate profit economist at major brokerage firms. Her econometric approach enabled her to forecast major trends in both stock prices and earnings across 25 S&P 500 industry groups.

Today, she continues to use these mathematical models to evaluate the relative attractiveness of S&P 500 sectors—categorizing them as attractive, neutral, or unattractive—which is used in managing her Sector Analysis Hedge Fund and also reported in her Sector Analysis Weekly Report. This report is distributed to institutional investors worldwide, including mutual funds, pension funds, and hedge funds.
